Prayer
Do you need someone to pray for you?
We believe that God listens to our prayers and answers them.
We believe that God can heal by prayer in the name of Jesus Christ.
Therefore, we would love to offer to pray with/for you,
if you are sick or otherwise need to be prayed for.
Feel free to send us your prayer – it's completely non-binding.
There are 3 options:
1. In connection with our services every Sunday morning.
2. Prayer requests can be sent by mail to bedfor@ckirken.dk.
3. In addition, 2 Wednesdays a month you will also be able to be prayed for in the church. There will be people who will stand with you in faith and firm conviction about God's intervention in your life, whether your problem is health-wise, spiritually, or emotionally.
If you wish to be prayed for on a Wednesday evening, it is important that you sign up via this link by Tuesday at 17:00: Registration for prayer
By clicking on the link, you can see when the next time is that you can be prayed for.
If you have registered, please show up at 18.00 in the City Church (follow the signs up the stairs in the hall).
Why do we pray for people?
Because the Bible tells us to. We believe, as we pray in the Lord's Prayer, that we can ask that "His will be done on earth as it is in heaven“.
God has made it abundantly clear to us that He not only wants to save us and give us eternal life, but that He also wants to cure our diseases. When Jesus died on the Cross, He made both salvation and healing available to us. As with salvation, it is a gift given to us in grace - it is already within reach. Here are a few excerpts about what the Bible writes about intercession:
”... they must lay their hands on sick so that they recover.” (Luke 16:18b).
“But it was our illnesses he took, it was our suffering he bore. But he was pierced for our transgressions and crushed for our sins. He was punished so that we could have peace, by his wounds we were healed." (Isaiah 53:4-5).
“He forgives all your guilt, heals all your illnesses." (Psalms 103:3).
”Verily, verily I say unto you: He who believes in me, he shall also do the works I do, yes, do greater works than them, for I go unto the Father; and whatever you ask in my name, I will do so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me for something in my name, I will." (John 14:12-14).
”He who manages, with his power that works in us, to do far beyond all we ask or understand.” (Ephesians 3:20).
Jesus waits with open arms to be allowed to give us a life without pain and sickness, for "it was our illnesses he took, it was our suffering he carried" – he has already borne our pain and suffering. There's no reason why we should hold on to it anymore.
